New McCartney Track leaked on YouTube

The new McCartney track Songbird In A Cage has been leaked before its release next Friday. The song is performed by the French-British singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. On the track Paul McCartney can be heard playing guitar, piano and drums, according to producer Sebastian Akchoté  in an interview with the New York Times:

For the upbeat groove Songbird in a Cage Ms. Gainsbourg called in a favor from Paul McCartney, who had written the song for her years earlier and dropped by one day to play guitar, drums and piano. He was like a child, having fun, trying every instrument, it was unreal. 

The new song was given to Charlotte Gainsbourg after she had lunch with Paul McCartney, six years ago.

I asked him, and he sent this song. It was so generous and I didn’t even had an album to put it on.

It took Gainsbourg some time to make a new album and use the new song Songbird In A Cage, because lately she was more focused on her other career, acting. Eventually the song was recorded in 2016 in Electric Lady studio in Manhattan. The new album will be released next Friday, Nov 17. The song with McCartney is already available on YouTube:

Charlotte Gainsbourg is the daughter of British actress Jane Birkin and French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. In the 1970’s her parents had a worldwide hit with the erotic single Je t'aime... moi non plus.
